Atlas’ Client Certification Program offers individualized support for those who choose to train their own service dog.
As a client in our program, you are paired with one of our Atlas Team Facilitators, highly trained volunteers who will support you through the final stages of your service dog’s training. Click below to learn more and find out where we serve.

Not sure if a service dog or training your own dog is right for you? See our detailed Guidelines to Self Training Approaches document to help you determine the best approach for you.
Before being ready for Atlas’ program, you may want to consider our Teams Set in MotionTM program, or you may want the help of a private trainer. Look through these statements to help you decide which route is best for you:
- My dog is at least 14 months old and meets Atlas’ temperament and obedience requirements
- I would like support in training my service dog for public accessÂ
- I would like support in training and/or refining my dog’s disability tasks
- I am committed to using positive training methods
- I would like support in building my confidence as a service dog handler day-to-day
Or
- I do not yet have a dog and would like help finding an appropriate dog for service work
- My dog is not yet 14 months old and/or doesn’t have solid basic obedience skillsÂ
- I would like a lot and frequent hands-on support with my dog’s training
- My dog has some behavior issues I’d like some help with
- I would like someone to board and train my dog
